Amir's inaugural book, The Transformative Leader, is an easy read, chock full of entertaining stories and anecdotes presented in twenty short One Point Lessons. Each lesson is designed to put you in touch with the extraordinary leader in you, and to compel you to think and act in ways that will make your career and life as fulfilling and rewarding as you want them to be. Each lesson comes with a set of discovery questions and recommended actions that will guide you in the process of applying the material in your life, in a way that makes a difference for you.

We are all leaders in some form or fashion. Whether you are leading a team at work, involved in your place of worship or community, caring for your family, or pursuing personal goals and aspirations in life, you are practicing some form of leadership. The quality of your results and the amount of fulfillment you get out of such pursuits depends less on your specific circumstances and much more on how well you understand and apply the timeless and universal principles of leadership.

Unfortunately, the education and training we receive in the course of our academic and professional careers still leaves most of us completely unaware of the simple truths about what’s keeping us from declaring, pursuing, and achieving the extraordinary in our lives.

If you do have formal leadership responsibilities, you will find an abundance of insight in the book about the mindset of leaders and the ways in which you can cultivate those in yourself. You will also be introduced to the characteristics of a High Commitment Culture where everyone on the team is fired up about making extraordinary things happen, and be provided with ways to get your team there, no matter where you are on the organizational chart.

Clearly one of the best books on leadership to come along in years. A must read for new leaders! Even experienced leaders would be wise to study this book.
— Mark Baker, former executive director & certified facilitator, Shingo Institute
‘If you want to transform your organization’s culture, transform yourself first’ says Amir Ghannad in The Transformative Leader. This concept cuts to the heart of this insightful, yet very practical book, with numerous take-ways and tools for you to start your transformation now. What’s holding you back? Actually, Amir covers that as well. Apply the principles in this impactful book and your life and your organization will transform.
— Mike Hoseus, Co-author "Toyota Culture - The Heart and Soul of the Toyota Way," 2009 Shingo Research Award Winner
I read The Transformative Leader in its entirety and have gone back several times and re-read lessons to give them focused attention. It has value far beyond mowing from cover to cover to glean a few nuggets.

The style in which you write feels like I am having a conversation with a trusted advisor or friend. Many books invest too much time building support for their concept, only getting to the meat after wearing their reader down with stats. Your style gets right to the work and engages the mind and person.

It is evident that you have lived every area you advise on; from managing real world challenges, human nature, performance improvement (personal and professional) the sleepless nights and experiencing the brilliant to bonehead moves we all make. I really connected with this.
— Brad Van Dam, President & CEO of Marich Confectionery Co.
With a compelling message grounded in connecting examples, Amir unlocks leadership awareness and provides simple and effective approaches to allow any leader at any state in their personal development journey to make real progress in developing their intentional leadership self. The Transformative Leader enables you to discover the leader within you as opposed to changing you into one. Armed with insights and understanding you will be equipped to develop and grow your organization’s culture of engagement and as a result performance.
— Greg Flickinger Ph.D., Vice President of Manufacturing and Corporate Engineering Snyder’s-Lance Inc.
Very few leaders were born ready to lead. In most cases, leadership is only mastered after years of trial and error. This book captures the genuine and ever so elusive spirit of great leaders. It takes the essence of what would otherwise take years to learn and breaks it down into powerful, tangible, attainable behaviors that can be achieved by anyone strong enough to live by them. This book takes organizational wisdom and turns it into teachable practices. The Transformative Leader should be read and re-read by any manager who wishes to make a difference!
— Reut Schwartz-Hebron, Senior Consultant, Founder of the Key Change Institute, and Author of "Making Difficult Change Simple"
Amir Ghannad has drawn on his wealth of personal and professional experiences to write a practical and powerful book on what it takes to be an effective leader and to change the culture around you. ‘The Transformative Leader’ is an easy read and filled with lessons anyone in a position of responsibility for leading others can put to immediate good use. His twenty ‘One Point Lessons’ – each no more than a few pages and each making a solid point – are especially powerful. Each makes an important point on its own, and collectively they encompass what it takes to be a great leader.
— Bill Waddell, Author, Speaker, and Principal at Bill Waddell Manufacturing Leadership Support
The fact that Amir was and still is an effective leader of people makes his words, stories, and message much more meaningful and impactful. I really like how he assembled the main content into 20 easy to understand, relate-able “one point lessons” to zero in on each specific principle. The end of chapter summary, reflective questions, and recommended actions make his book a valuable tool and resource that can be used to guide yourself and your team to the next level. I especially liked the chapter on “Passion & Drama.” I highly recommend reading and adding this book to your library.
— Mack Story, Leadership Expert and Author of Blue Collar Leadership
Amir does an amazing job of providing both conceptual and practical approaches to transforming a culture from within. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to see the vision and values of their company consistently displayed across the entire organization.
— Nathan Artt, Owner/President at Ministry Solutions

This is the most impactful leadership book to transform an organization that I have ever read. Completely makes me look at things with a whole new lens. If all leaders read this book and was open to its ideas, we’d live a different world. I conduct a lot of work in coaching and working with leaders, I will definitely be recommending and bringing this book with me every where I go. Everyone needs to read this!
I wish I had this book 25 years ago. To think that I could’ve seen the world as possibilities and help others see them too is extremely powerful. This gives me a renewed understanding of Gandhi’s quote of ‘be the change you want to see in the world.’ We are all leaders, and we all have the power to influence and take action. This book makes this so clear.
— A. Bijeau
Great book by Amir, goes beyond the [traditional] leadership insights and helps you delve into yourself to understand how to enhance team capability.
— Michael Boettcher
This book is very well written, and the content of the book is extremely useful. The book is very clear and concise. This book provides one point lessons on leadership and provides many examples of what great leaders do and don’t do! This book has helped me identify things about myself and my habits that I did not see before (good and bad). Everybody in the workforce should read this book so that we can transform our workplace into an ever greater workplace, and employees will see their job as something they enjoy and not see it as ‘work.’
I had the opportunity to work with Amir. I saw first-hand how the use of these tools / lessons will transform YOU and your organization. If you want to unleash your potential, and then your team’s potential, to ultimately transform your whole culture, you need to buy this book.
As a Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Consultant who has worked with several Fortune 500 companies, I wish I had this book to recommend to clients years ago. It is an easy-to-read, yet comprehensive handbook for building foundational leadership skills. Mr. Ghannad shares personal stories based on his many years of hands-on experience in industry which helps the reader understand and internalize his concepts. It is a practical guide for achieving personal growth toward becoming a true Servant Leader.
I purchased this book as an addition to my personal toolkit for helping teams in crisis. My last few positions have been to restructure and rescue poor/non-performing teams, and return them to operational efficiency. This book was an absolutely fantastic read, with tools and lessons I was able to apply right away to help with self-awareness, understand the need for change, and provide tools to face fears and challenges. The book is arranged with a good discussion of the subject matter, followed by 20 “one-point lessons” relative to the challenges of transformation, independently discussed, with concise, witty examples to help the reader quickly understand the lesson, and also allow them to succinctly explain the lesson to others. You can revisit the book to select a new lesson, and there are several pages in the back of the book for notes. I really appreciated this approach, as it allowed me to immediately start incorporating some of the lessons in conversations – both at work, at home with my children, in various volunteer groups, even within my children’s school environment. I strongly believe this book is a must read for any leader who is trying to bring about change or challenge the status-quo; it’s tucked in my laptop bag for quick reference. The clever descriptions contained within the lessons will help you keep them at the tip of your tongue, ready to insert into any discussion (Lessons from a GPS, Chic-Fil-A lemonade, Feed the Grass, I Can’t, Be-There-Ship).
This is a great book and [...] I appreciate the creative format. It is broken out into separate lessons each with a recap, thought provoking questions and suggested follow up actions. This makes it immediately useful and easy to go back and re-read areas of particular interest...which I have done several times.
Great message. Book is well laid out and a great read! Thanks Amir.
Great book. Loved it. Down to Earth real examples of what great leadership looks like and great suggestions for keeping focused on improving in these areas.
Fantastic book. Insightful and based on real life experiences. This is one of those rare “business” books that goes beyond just application in the workplace—it is a guide to being a leader in all aspects of your life. Highly recommended.
